Marcus Garvey Cultural Heritage Program

The Marcus Garvey Cultural Heritage Program (MGCHP) introduces the historical realities of the great cultures of Africa and the traditions of people in the African Diaspora to our Community.

In free, interactive classes, families reconnect to the dynamic, complex history of our ancestors by learning the languages and cultures of the African Diaspora.
  • Provide exposure to cultures of African origin and descent for a broader global perspective and historical understanding of African culture and its impact on world development.

  • Assist students in developing an understanding of geopolitical realities.

  • Provide classes, workshops and opportunities for cross-cultural dialogue.

  • Develop relationships with members of the global communities.

  • Develop cultural awareness, self-worth and self-esteem through the introduction and cultivation of traditional and contemporary African art forms.
